WORKSHOP

Imperial Motorworks operates from a 1000 m² atelier in Vrbovec, half an hour north-east of Zagreb. The space is intentionally working, not boutique: enough room to take a vehicle apart properly, enough zones to keep paint, metal, mechanics and interior trade off each other cleanly, and enough storage to give a project the months it deserves. What follows is an honest description of what that space contains.

§ IISCALE

One thousand square metres, planned by purpose.

Restoration work needs space — not for show, but for sequence. A car under restoration cannot be moved between disciplines without losing alignment data, dust control, or the small parts that get separated and labelled across months of work. Our floor is therefore divided into zones that match the phases of a restoration, with permanent rotisseries, lifts and benches per zone rather than shared.

We deliberately keep the workshop human in scale: cars are not stacked, projects are not rushed against each other, and there is always enough room to stop and step back. The number we cite — 1000 m² — is the number that lets us refuse to compromise on those things.

§ IIIDISCIPLINES

Six disciplines, one continuous workflow.

Bodywork, paint, restoration assembly, mechanical work, engine rebuilding through European specialist partners, and final detail. Each has its own area, its own specialist, and its own pace.

Isolated paint environment
I

Isolated paint environment

A dust-controlled paint zone with separate prep, spray and bake stages. Filtration sized for multi-layer restoration finishes — not production cycles.

Metalwork & structure
II

Metalwork & structure

Permanent rotisseries, plasma and TIG stations, and bench space to lay out shells properly. Geometry rebuilt to factory specification, not disguised.

Mechanical workspace
III

Mechanical workspace

Lifts, engine stands, brake and suspension benches, and quiet zones for assembly. Engine rebuilds coordinated with trusted European machining partners.

§ IVSTORAGE

Climate-controlled holding, not parking.

Cars under restoration sometimes need to wait — for a part, for a decision, for the right weather to road-test. We hold them in climate-controlled indoor space, not outside under a tarpaulin. Long-term winter holds for client cars between seasons are offered on the same basis.

§ VFABRICATION

When the part no longer exists, we make it.

Reproduction sheet-metal panels, brackets, bushings and small structural pieces are fabricated on site when reproduction stock has dried up or never existed. Every fabricated part is photographed, measured and recorded in the restoration dossier so that future owners can audit what is original and what was made here.

§ VIACCESS

Easy to reach from across Europe.

On the D10 expressway that links to the A4 motorway, half an hour from Zagreb city, and within a comfortable day's drive for clients from across DACH. Vehicle transport is organised on commission; in special cases the workshop owner personally collects.
